BREEAM Outstanding Rating for London Building

Our new London office has been awarded a BREEAM "outstanding" rating for being in the top 1% of UK domestic refurbishments.
Managing Greenhouse Gases and Energy Usage
We’re striving to reduce our GHG emissions. In 2019, we recorded our lowest total emissions (as measured by total metric tons of CO2e) since we started reporting on this metric internally in 2010. Between 2018 and 2019, we were able to reduce our emissions by 4.5%, and by 13% over the five‐year period ended in 2019.
Collaborating on Climate with Columbia University
After developing a first-of-its-kind Climate Science and Investing curriculum in partnership with Columbia University’s Earth Institute in April 2021, AB announced its role as the Founding Member of the Corporate Affiliate Program at the newly launched Columbia Climate School.
Our Climate Change Statement
As investors, we integrate material climate change risks and opportunities into most of our investment analysis, decision-making and solutions. We continue to train our professionals and develop proprietary tools, including our engagement and collaboration platform, ESIGHT.
Greening AB’s Buildings and Offices
At AB, we’re working to place 85% of our employees in greener workspaces and more environmentally friendly buildings by 2025, as defined by ratings from Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) or other local standards. We’re happy to share that our new office location in Shanghai recently achieved a Gold LEED rating. Our new Nashville, Tennessee, USA headquarters has been awarded a Silver LEED rating and features an outdoor roof terrace, gardens, bicycle parking and a car park with dual electric-vehicle chargers. In 2023, we opened the doors of our new office in London, which was awarded a Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) “outstanding” rating for being in the top 1% of UK domestic refurbishments. It also features a two-star Fitwel rating and will utilize 100% renewable energy. We’re also executing on plans to move into a greener office space with our remaining New York employees.
Engaging AB Employees on Sustainability
The Sustainable Employee Wellness Group (EWG) is dedicated to sustaining the environment both as a firm and as individuals. The group hosts regular events to engage and educate employees on topics including solar energy, recycling, safe water and eating sustainably.
