Becoming a Trusted Advisor to Private Clients
The role of a Financial Advisor in Bernstein’s Global Wealth Management group is to gain a deep understanding of the varied needs of private clients, and to guide them toward making the most advantageous investment decisions.
Our advisors often work closely with their clients’ other professional advisors, such as tax attorneys and accountants, to address critical planning issues including transferring wealth, giving to charities, and selling a business. Bernstein advisors do not select securities as a traditional broker does. Rather, our advisors tap into the portfolios managed by the Firm’s research and portfolio management teams which have an outstanding long-term record to fulfill client needs. Advisors also receive investment-decision support from the portfolio and wealth management specialists dedicated to Private Client to bring our best thinking to clients’ specific circumstances.
We seek professionals with more than 10 years of experience and a proven track record of building successful, trusting relationships with clients and third-party referral sources. Financial experience is not required, and in fact we have successful advisors on staff who came from accounting, law, consulting, pharmaceuticals, and commercial real estate.
We place a premium on nurturing the knowledge and skills of our financial advisors throughout their careers. All advisors complete an intensive training program that introduces them to the “Bernstein approach” that has proven successful for more than a quarter-century. Each advisor is also supported by a group of highly qualified Financial Advisor Associates, who are available to assist the advisor in handling routine client inquiries and other logistical matters.
