Beth-Ann Martorello is a Senior Vice President and Chief Audit Officer at AllianceBernstein (AB), where she directs global internal audit activities (IA) for AB and its subsidiaries. With a global audit team (based in US, Europe and Asia), she is responsible for identifying and evaluating the financial, operational, technological and regulatory risks associated with the firm’s buy-side and sell-side business activities. Martorello also directs the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) testing process in support of the firm’s SOX 404 certification requirement. She joined AB in 1998 and has since performed infrastructure, application, operational and financial audits, conducted several fraud investigations, developed the Quality Assurance Program, drafted the IA procedure manual, performed internal quality assessment reviews of AB’s IA and other IA departments under the AXA umbrella, and developed and implemented training and onboarding programs and IA applications. Before joining the firm, Martorello was with Barclay’s Internal Audit Department, where she served in various positions, including in support and development, and as IT audit associate. She holds a BA in history from New York University, a Certification in Control Self-Assessment®, a Certification of Risk and Information System Control, is a Certified Information Systems Auditor and is accredited in Quality Assurance. Martorello is an Executive Sponsor of Synergy (women’s employee resource group) Nashville. She also serves on the Board of Nashville CARES and was asked to join the Board of Governors for the Nashville chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors.
