Alexander Chaloff

Alex Chaloff is CIO for Bernstein Private Wealth Management, overseeing the investment platform across traditional and alternative investments. He leads the creation of asset allocation advice, manager research, product development and product management. He is also the Head of Investment and Wealth Strategies and is responsible for all planning research Bernstein conducts and publishes. Before being promoted to his current role, he served as head of Alternative Asset Strategies, developing new ideas across the spectrum of alternative investments. Alex is currently President of the Sanford C. Bernstein Mutual Fund Family and also sits on investment committees of several Bernstein Private Equity and Real Estate Strategies managed by third-party partner firms on behalf of clients. Prior to joining Bernstein in 2005, he was a managing director at Wilshire Associates where he structured the investment programs of Fortune 500 companies and mutual fund complexes, serving as chief financial officer for several mutual fund families. Alex earned a BA in government and politics from the University of Maryland, College Park, and an MBA with a concentration in finance from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California. He is based in Los Angeles, CA.
