Ninghui Liu is the Lead Portfolio Manager for Asia Multi-Asset Solutions at AB. He is responsible for the management of AB’s Taiwan multi-asset portfolios, China Multi-Asset Portfolio and other multi-asset solutions focused on China and the broader Asia region. Liu joined the firm in 2021 from Ping An Asset Management, where he served as the chief investment officer (CIO) of Quantitative Equity. Prior to that, Liu served as the founder and CIO of a systematic multi-strategy hedge fund that traded equities, futures and option strategies exclusively in China markets, and as the executive director of Alternative Investment Business at CITIC Securities. Earlier in his career, Liu worked for industry-leading risk and analytic platforms in the United States, including Bloomberg, Lehman Brothers and J.P. Morgan. He has served as director of the Absolute Return Investment Management Association of China since 2015 and has taught a course in quant investment management at the Institute of Mathematics, Fudan University, since 2016. Liu holds dual degrees in engineering mechanics and operations research from Tsinghua University, Beijing, and a PhD in civil engineering and operations research from Princeton University.
