Cathy Spencer is the Chief People Officer and a member of the Operating Committee. She leads the teams responsible for delivering an excellent employee experience for all of AB’s people. This includes oversight of the following functions: analytics, benefits, compensation, dining, learning and engagement, people operations, talent management, workplace operations, workplace productivity and onsite excellence, and talent acquisition, throughout the firm’s global footprint, serving more than 4,000 staff members. Spencer joined AB in 1997 and has held a variety of roles, from overseeing talent and organizational development to managing employee relations, both globally. She was promoted to senior vice president in 2008, when she assumed the role of head of Human Resources, which she held for 10 years. Spencer holds a BA in journalism from the University of Maryland and an MA in organizational leadership and learning from the George Washington University.
