Robert van Brugge is the CEO of AB Bernstein Research Services, a position he assumed in December 2011. Prior to that, he served as global director of research for the firm. Van Brugge was formerly a senior research analyst, and was named to Institutional Investor’s All-America Research team. Prior to joining the firm in 2002, he was an associate principal with McKinsey & Company, where he focused on corporate finance and the consumer goods sector for six years, and prior to graduate school, he served as a commercial lender with First Colonial Bankshares Corp. Van Brugge earned a BA (with honors) in political science and economics from Roosevelt University and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was recognized as a Palmer Scholar.
