Sharlyn Harper is the Director of Diverse Talent Solutions at AB. In this role, she is responsible for leading tailored global talent management processes and employee engagement for diverse talent. Additionally, Harper leads the firm's diversity recruitment efforts, aimed at enabling more effective access to talent at the pre-college levels, such as the Cristo Rey Network's Corporate Work Study program, which helps high-school students gain real-world corporate experience. Her career at AB began in 2016 with the launch of AB's first Sophomore Summer Leadership Program, which focused on providing underrepresented populations in financial services exposure to the asset management industry through a rigorous nine-week rotational internship program. The program successfully led to year-over-year increases in the diversity makeup of AB's junior internship and full-time associate programs. Harper also supports the firm's participation in the Thurgood Marshall College Fund Leadership Institute, an award-winning national program aimed at developing the leadership skills of a carefully curated group of students from the 47 publicly supported historically Black colleges and universities in the US. Additionally, Harper oversees various culture initiatives across the firm and has led the development of a firmwide Diversity & Inclusion digital strategy which includes the creation of a virtual DEI resource library and management of the DEI website. Prior to joining AB, she spent five years at Deutsche Bank, where she handled client accounts within Global Trade Finance Operations. Harper holds a BBA from Skidmore College and is on the board of the Tennessee Diversity Consortium. Location: Nashville
