Did You Know that Human Beings are Bought and Sold Every Day?

At AllianceBernstein, we are committed to working to reduce modern slavery risks to people associated with the operations and supply chains of Australian listed companies. And one of the greatest challenges to the elimination of modern slavery is that, often, people aren’t aware that it exists.

At the ACSI 2022 Annual Conference, AB is pleased to partner with Anti-Slavery Australia, at UTS, to present to you the Human Mart, a pop-up interactive art installation.  Modern slavery is happening every day, and the Human Mart is intended to show you what it looks like.

Visit the Human Mart at the ACSI 2022 Annual Conference

Take your time, look at the products and read the labels – you’ll see that each of the 61 ‘products’ on display bears a person’s name, and a true story of modern slavery in Australia.

Is Your Portfolio at Risk? Modern Slavery — at a Glance

Not only is reducing modern slavery the right thing to do, researching the risks and proactively engaging with corporates to reduce them, can also lead to better investment outcomes.  Read AB’s Introduction to Modern Slavery paper to find out more.
